In "The Best Part of Waking Up," At sunrise, hope feels possible—until Alice awakens to a reality that feels disturbingly wrong. The room isn’t hers, the memories she trusts begin to fracture, and those closest to her seem to know more than they should. As unsettling clues mount and logic clashes with instinct, Alice begins to suspect the truth is far stranger than she ever imagined—and far closer than she’s ready to face.
In "Something Borrowed, Something Missed," On a lightning-slashed night, three thieves unearth a long-buried grave for a secretive client. As thunder rolls, something in the coffin reacts to the storm—something that should not move. Weeks earlier, Alice set the plan in motion after every legal door closed to her. The job is finished, the payment made, but what they witnessed in that grave refuses to stay buried.
In "Skin Deep Reality," after isolating herself from everyone, Alice is forced to take a mysterious call from a woman who claims a secret link to her mother and the living ink bound to Alice’s skin. The woman insists something left unfinished now needs Alice’s help through dangerous magic. Alice thinks it was only a dream—until Ellie confirms it was real, leaving Alice to wonder what unseen force has begun reaching for her from beyond.
